Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #143

I'm back with another sketch challenge from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge
#143
My hand got a little shaky with the gold glitter, but I'm still ok with how the overall scrapbook layout turned out! I used a mix of my stash for this one! Martha Stewart glitter,  Recollection paperpack,  Mariposa paperpack, Teresa Collins sequins, Heidi Swapp PL card (love this)....my scrap stash goes on and on!
I hope you will join in on the fun!

Creative Corner Challenges - FEATHERS!

Hello 2016! Happy New Year!!

Welcome to a new challenge with Creative Corner Challenges. I hope you will head over and check out my fellow Design Team blogs! They have some amazing work to show you too!

This challenge is all about feathers, so dig in and find some!

Here is my card!

I took inspiration from the 2014 Close to My Heart Catalogue on page 121. I searched high and low for something with feathers. And would you believe it or not, someone who loves owls and peacocks has nothing feathers...or so I thought. I finished up this card and started cleaning up my disaster craftroom. And whaddya know? I found purple peacock paper and a feather stamp! HA! Anywho, for this project I made a washi tape feather with some twine as the "stem" then painted it black with a coat of gold paint over top. For the feather on the left, I sketched one with charcoal and filled it in with BoBunny Pearlescents Pen in Sugar. I added a few gems to the edges too. I chose a random Project Life card out of my stash (I'm horrible for not keeping the packaging!!)

I hope you will play along with us at Creative Corner Challenges with Team Jess!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #141

Hi there! My layout with Lil West that I posted a few weeks back was chosen for one of the top 3 winners for Sketch #140!! So pumped!

Anyway...I am back with an entry for #141 !

Here's the sketch:

For this challenge, I chose to do a journal/sketch book page (in my sketch book, Yes. I am 30 years old and I have a sketch book. Multiple ones actually!) I may do some journaling later on, when the mood strikes but for now, this is what it looks like! I used "Betty" from Julie Nutting's Doll Stamp Collection. I had fun using my scraps to make her clothes, and pieces from my pocket letter goodies that I have accumulated.

2016 Bible Journaling

The start to a fresh year of journaling! I love learning new techniques and splashing the paint around! Some are finished; some are works in progress....lots of inspiration on the Journaling Bible Community. A couple of these are inspired by Tai Bender & Jennifer Williams.
I'm so enjoying diving in the word! Thank you Jesus!
I am working through some personal blahs right now...and turning to God through it is not always easy. But this is helping me stay focused and remembering that He will get me through it!
I am really hoping that come February I will have another group of gals over to journal with me! Looking at 3 nights per month! Giving it to God and letting Him direct this path.

2016: WOTY!

Family. Coffee. Train Track building. Take a walk. Watch Doctor Who. And who knows, maybe get some crafting fun in! ;)

I'm vegging out with the fam today, and like every New Year's Day I think about the upcoming year. Changes, plans, budgets (blah!), vacations, renovations, play dates, appointments....yup all on the list! This reflection usually evokes a variety of emotions...including some tears. My babies are growing up. That one usually hits me like a ton of bricks-->my youngest is turning one in a month?! WHAT?<-- The other one that I am worrying about; but giving it fully to God, is our finances. My maternity leave is up mid January. Which is where my new venture in photography comes in! Check out my new website here. Anyway...my ramblings bring me to this....

My Word of the Year is BE.

I want to be. I want to be a servant to and for Christ. I want to be bold in my walk with God. I want to be present --> with my family; my husband, my kids. I want to be brave in my new venture with my photography business. I want to be happy--> making changes and being happy with what I (we) already have. I want to be positive--> Look for the good in situations. I want to be strong--> I am working on getting healthy and getting strong through exercise and eating clean. I want to be the best person I can be this 2016 year.

"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people."

Creative Corner Challenges - Anything Goes

Hello 2016! Happy New Year!

Welcome to a brand new challenge to ring in the New Year! I'm over at Creative Corner Challenges with Team Jess bringing you an Anything Goes challenge! Make sure to stop by all the Designers on the team too! Go on, Get crafty!

In all the hustle and bustle of the season, I misread what the challenge was for this week HA! So, this is what I came up with at 10 p.m. last night!

I know it's New Year's Day, but I had to slip one last Christmas project in! This is some of my Christmas pics from 2014. I created a 3x3" (inch) mini album using one piece of 12x12" paper. I learned this technique years ago, and love it still to this day. YouTube has many video tutorials on how to do this! I used a ton of little odds and ends in my stash (gotta use it up right?!) I also had a Christmas pack from a couple years back from Close to My Heart, so I finally got around to using it in this project!
I bought this paper a
couple years back from
 my friends store! Love BoBunny!
This is what I used throughout
the album.

~As always, happy crafting, happy new year, many blessings this year --> make it fabulous!~
